Want something traditional, but just a little different? Want chinks or armitas tough enough to protect you, but that contribute a little style, too? Personalize yours with a family brand or initials. Call for a quote.

Working, show or fancy, your chinks or armitas can be ordered in a variety of sizes, cuts, colors, weights, textures and materials. Aaron can stamp or carve tops and plaquets, add single or double hand cut fringe (blunt or tapered ends), simple self fringe, twist or lace fringe, drape the fringe or square cut and apply it, use insets and color coordinate the entire chink or armita. Unless otherwise specified, we begin the fringe about 4 inches below the knee. Regular fringe is 4 inches. Extra long fringe is an option. The leg cuts can be ordered standard to full bell.

We use primarily traditional earthtone hide colors. Other colors can be custom ordered. Belts and plaquets can coordinate or contrast the chinks or armitas, or skip the plaquets in favor of old style lacing. Decorative elements may be specified including fancy stitching.

Ladies will appreciate the California Classics' special high cut with slope that makes for a more flattering, comfortable and attractive fit for curvy or full figures. A variety of closures can be ordered from snaps to self buttons or classic step ins. Knife attachments and pockets are also options for the working hand.

Youth chinks may be custom ordered with an eye for long term wear as the kids grow. Children's versions are made with the same attention to detail seen in the adult versions. Baby chinks are a favorite as gifts from aunts, uncles or grandparents.


Select from a huge variety of silver conchos and buckles. Buckles may be used in the back, tiny buckles employed in the front with thin straps or choose to use just a string as a closure in the front.

Custom Chinks We Have Made
 

Made for Finn in Denmark, these chinks are meant to work. He picked them up on a visit to California and had us add the Schaezlein buckle to go with the sterling conchos. The belt is custom contoured for a better fit and set stamped for looks and durability. His initials are encircled on the belt which gives him the option of closure in front or in the back. For those who do lots of roping, the appropriate thigh can be custom padded, if needed.

 
 

Finn chose the decorative stitching, punctured scallop edging and the two tone working fringe length. Although we do make longer custom fringe, this length is the most practical for working the ground as well as riding without tripping on your fringe or tearing off a hunk. Finn teaches in his spare time so he is on and off of his horses helping students.
