When starting today's horses, many use a 5/8 ths inch diameter bosal. A latigo hanger allows the bosal to lift & release properly. Stand in front of the horse to position the bosal in the facial indentations. Take the mane mecate wraps needed to allow 2 fingers' at 90 degrees space before the heel knot of the bosal makes contact. Synthetic rope warps the bosal bars. The hackamore remains the basis of the classic California stock horse. |
