California Classics

CC's 22 foot angora mecates retain the look of traditional hair ropes, but are easy on the hands. They are non-UV reactive (especially good for sun belt areas), have "life" and should offer years of service. Currently, we make 6 strand combinations of white, black and grey. We are working on offering brown to be able to offer you 8 strand patterns. Look for our double Turk's head on one end and the CC trademark on the popper to make certain your have the "real deal" in your gear bag or saddle shed.

We now have hard to find angora get down ropes (as well as the nylon and the mane). Our CC angora ropes are 16 foot and feature tassel and a lash end. They come in combinations of black, white and two shades of gray.

We don't make custom color mecates. We will, however, do our best help you select from our inventory. As with our mane mecates, we suggest untying your hackamore each time it is used to "rest" the rope and the bars of your bosal. The same is true for use with slobber straps and a snaffle, but make certain to ease the strands through the slobber holes so as not to break the fibers. Keep your fine mecate away from moths, horse's teeth, dogs, rodents and other assorted critters. Call for current inventory.
