These are reatas/riatas by the grandfather of Ernest Morris, Jesse Wilkinson. They are highly prized in major collections. When they were made, top vaqueros and buckaroos sought out Jesse for the best in rawhide gear.

"This six-strand braided rawhide riata was made by Jesse Wilkinson in Paso Robles in approximately 1930. It measures a scant 3/8 inch diameter by 37 1/2 feet long and has the apprearance of excellent condition. It can used as a tool to rope with or as a piece of museum quality art.

It is my opinion that this riata has a current value of $2,200. This authentication and appraisal is done solely by me and is in my best opinion an accurate account".
