Roeser Partially Carved Wade Lee Roeser is one of the best kept secrets of the Sierras. His Roeser Saddle Company builds select saddles with all day seats for working cowboys or aficionados. The only bad part is that Lee is just part time in the shop due to packing. He and his wife, Jennifer own McGee Creek Pack Station. Both are considered top hands at whatever they turn their attention to. A prime example is this new 15 inch seat round skirted Oregon Wade. Medium oil finished Herman Oak leather features Lee's California wild rose partial stamp. The six button saddle with nice, long latigo strings has a 6 3/4 inch x 8 inch gullet, Hape bars, 9.5 inch front and 4 inch cantle. Double rigged 7/8ths flat plate it has half double stirrup leathers, Blevins buckles, brass covered 3 inch bell stirrups, bronze JWP rigging hardware, latigos and a mohair cinch are installed and waiting for you to saddle up. Ready to rope? Although only about 30 pounds, this stout saddle won't let you down. The 3 inch x 3.5 inch cap #4 horn is wrapped and waiting. If you can pitch a loop and your horse will pull, you'll be ready to drag some to the fire. The Oregon cross over rope strap will keep your reata or rope at hand. If need be, it can double as a night latch. You'll rarely find edges that are this finished and without fake dye. A simple saddle by some standards, the work is premium "clean." Lee gets the nod from experienced hands and artisans alike. The saddles are rarely offered for sale, but a fire at the ranch has made this a possibility. $4,000 |
